Hi guys,
I'm sorry it took me until today to come post the outcome, it's just really hit me hard and even posting this now when I felt so hopeful for her is making me cry. Lily didn't make it
I contacted the vet again, emailed Laura's post through and the vet said first thank you for that information Laura (she's keeping it, you summarised the heart stuff really well and there's not that much out there), and agreed that there could very well be an underlying heart condition possibly even along side an infection. Especially with her mum having had some unidentifiable problem that lead to dramatic weight loss, weakness, and death. We were going to try one of the medications, and Lily was still the same as she had been so I felt really positive that she was going to be okay.
She'd been up eating at the food bowl, stealing food from her friend as usual, and then she fell into another 'episode'. I was getting good at nursing her through them, lifted her up, held her to me, nothing was different this time from all the others... she was just looking up at me as I rubbed her, but then she just... stopped breathing, out of nowhere. You know how when GP's are about to die you can sense it, they've gone downhill, and you can sense that they're ready to go? It wasn't like that at all this time and I think the senselessness of it is making it harder for me to deal with. She'd been fighting for carrot!
She's the one on the left, this was just a few days before she died.
Thank you so much for everything, I wish I had a better ending to tell. I miss her already
pseudoephedrine products - it's definitely banned from sale here now, the chemist said it was pulled off the shelves not too long ago. I'll try and find the piece of paper the chemist wrote down a close alternative, with similar ingredients, minus that one that's banned and post it if I can. I broke my arm last week so it might be a while before I can search though, but if I find it i'll definitely inform you guys... if it's suitable it'd be good to know for informing others from countries that don't have sudafed.
