Yesterday my little boy fell asleep, he wasn't poorly at all, he'd had his breakfast and some grass, he just curled up in his usual place and went to sleep, He was just over 4 years old

Feel so gutted, shocked and lost today, the house is so quiet, not that he was a noisy piggy, but a very special little boy, we don't have children so he was our little boy.

Just so so sad.

I am so very sorry to hear this :(

Unfortunately guinea pigs just falling asleep forever with no obvious reason isn't uncommon. But at least he had a happy life and didn't suffer.

When the time is right, may be you would like to post a tribute in the Rainbow Bridge section xx

Just so so sad.

Am so sorry for your loss, and such a dreadful shock for you. He was such a gorgeous little man. Sending you lots of hugs. Sleep well little one x

I am so sorry for your loss. Its such a shock when they go and there is no warning :-( x x :-( x x ((hugs))
R.I.P beautiful boy.

What a sad shock for you! I am very sorry about your loss; the only consolation is that he didn't suffer at all. Piggies can die suddenly without obvious reason and it leaves the caring owner reeling!

I have just lost a piggy in an emergency tumour operation who was found in her pre-op assessment to have a very irregular heartbeat that could have her dropped dead at any time despite being apparently perfectly healthy and active - she was basically living with a time bomb in her body. Sadly, her heart gave out during the op.

PS: I am moving your thread to the Rainbow Bridge Pets section and have also integrated your lovely picture into your post, so his handsomeness can duly shine! Once uploaded, you have the option between thumbnail and full picture.

Sorry for the loss of your gorgeous piggie. Its always awful to lose a piggie but when it happen so suddenly is such a huge shock. Massive hugs to you at this sad time x

RIP Beautiful Boy

p.s I merged your threads together x

thanks everyone, I just feel so lost, not sure what to do.

HUGS

It is a very normal reaction to a sudden death you haven't been able to brace for; the first stage of the grieving process is often this feeling of numbness and emptiness while it is still sinking in.

The next stage is having to relearn a daily routine that does no longer include your boy in the hundreds of little ways you used to interact with him. this is often the most hurtful stage as a even the most innocious reminder will all of a sudden bring home the full extent of your loss. You may want to have a picture framed, so you have something to touch in case your urge for physical contact becomes overwhelming.

Oh, I am so sorry for your loss. These gorgeous little creatures take a piece of your heart each time they go. Big hugs
