Oh Cornelius, my darling little boy. From your very first day on earth, you were the most mischievous little piggy I have ever seen. And you kept this personality for all of the 6 years that we got to spend together. You knew exactly you‘d get every treat you wanted if you just chewed the bars long enough. You loved to annoy your wife and flirt with the neighbour at the same time. And it might‘ve taken you 5 years to realise that pets aren’t the worst thing in the world but we made the most of all the head and chin scratches these last few months.

My little Dog, you left a hole as big as an elephant in this house and we will miss you very very much. But knowing that you have been happy until the very end and you are now free of pain & problems is more than I could’ve wished for. I hope you know how much I love you, my darling boy. Sleep tight and popcorn free over the rainbow bridge I am sure your brother was already waiting for you on the other side.

I am so very sorry that your special, larger than life boy has had to make his journey to the Rainbow Bridge.

With some piggies God broke the mould after he made them, and Cornelius is one of those. They are a blessing to come across one but it is also very hard to get used to a home and life that they no longer fill with their personality. It seems so very empty and quiet...

Cornelius will always stay with you. Once you are over the acute grieving process, you can always go and be with him in your darkest of times, like I can still have a merry time in the garden with my own 'mini-dog' Minx while in stuck in a scan machine - even 20 years later. She was my own stair climber and the one who ruled the whole house and her human slaves within those magical years while she was alive. She is still alive in my heart and memories, nevermind the scores of piggies who have come after her and who have built their own unique nests in my heart.

Be kind with yourself as you grieve because that part never gets any easier; especially not with a heart piggy like Cornelius was for you.

I am sorry to read your heartbreaking post. He was very special and will always live on in your happy memories. He had an amazing life and will now be reunited with his brother in the meadows of the bridge.
