My little marble

ok as you remember marble went to the vets last week and had a GA to have his teeth trimed, he has been back a week and there is not one poo in his cage and he seems to have stopped eating again only to eat a little bit of hay now and again, could he be constipated if so is there anything i can give him to help him poo?
 
I may be that he is just unsettled by his experience getting his teeth trimmed. Do you have any critical care feed that you could give him. If not try to tempt his with some grass or cucumber. He may just need a couple of days to recover from his vet visit but it is vital that you encourage him to eat as much as possible. The lack of poos may be down to the upset. Keep a close eye on his food intake and if things dont settle down then I would get him to the vets again. Healing vibes to Marble to get better soon

Oh no Trudie hope he will be ok. I would be feeding him some critical care to keep his system going.

He has already had his teeth trimed but he hasnt pood in a week and I'm getting worried, are you any good at feeling piggies bellys, mabe you would be able to tell me whats wrong?

Hey louise i dont have anymore critical care but is it true i can crush up some nuggets with some water and feed him that?
 
It is, you need to let the water cool down obviously and add more water if needed to make a paste but you can use nuggets. :)
 
Cool thanks i shall give it a try do i need to put kettle water to it or just cold water from the tap? :)
 
It has to be hot as the water has to be hot enough to melt the nuggets. :)
 
Ok cool thanks louise your such a help lol i know i sound abit dense but do i need to keep it in the fridge afterwards to keep it fresh? x

Well i just gave marble some mushed up nuggets and he really enjoyed it i think he gobbled it from the syringe shall i give him more now as he seemed to enjoy or shall i wait an hour?
 
Hes not eating by himself he is being syringed feed at the moment to try and put a bit of weight on him, he seems to be trying to go for a poo but nothing is coming out thats why i think he is constipated just not sure what to do shall i take him back to the vets?

yeah i understood that part but i ment if he is willing to eat then i would go ahead,not pooing for that long is scary especially for a piggy,i would definantly take him to the vets as soon as you can if he becomes blocked it could lead to other major problems xxxxxx
 
I cant get to the vets till saturday but i am going to take him first thing saturday, i hope he is going to be ok, i only notices today that his wee is really smelly does that mean he isnt drinking enough?
 
I am back again if you wish to ring me.
I suspect nothing is coming out because not enough is going in.
 
Yeah thats what i thought i will try and ring you soon when my partner gets back, no promises though.
 
Ok well since i been syringe feeding him he has done a few poos, so mabe like you said there was just nothing going in for anything to come out, thanks for the advice alcesterpigs
