HELLO, MEMBERS, i lost a 4 year old piggie earlier this year, and it was heartbreaking so i replaced the pig with a young one..
now my eldest female pig, which is 3 years old and has long hair. i have noticed she has a wart like lump on her skin protruding out from her. like a wart only longer.. when i touch it the pig feels slight discomfort. should i take her to the vet? is it serious, i could take a photo of it, and post it into this site.. if anyone is good at diagnosing ? any advice please... worried owner....

Hi Paul. Where is it located? If you post a picture then perhaps someone on here may have some experience with something similar, but any advice given really mustn't replace a vet visit.

Any unusual lumps or bumps should always be seen by a vet at soon as possible for proper diagnosis - even if it's just to put your mind at rest. A lot of lumps are completely harmless, so hopefully this will be the case with your girl.

I'm sorry about the loss of your piggy earlier this year.

thanks for your kind words.. i will try to post a photo , in the hope that some-one has seen this condition before... but a vet's visit will be forthcoming soon.

the lump however is on her side, near the hip..
