Fudge and crunchie were both at the vet for a check up today.
Fudge had one of her diuretics increased 2 weeks ago due to her breathing becoming more laboured. The vet was happy that the effort had reduced, and confident with her colour being so good that everythings still ticking over nicely. She is also on day 10 of septrin after yet another UTI- she checked her urine and everything is back down to normal again. So she is very pleased with Fudgey.
Crunchie has had the kitchen sink thrown at her lately to try and get her bladder issues under control- if we couldnt, she faced a bladder flushing operation. She had 2 dentals 4 weeks apart due to not eating from her bladder pain. She was taken off pellets, strict timothy hay and ic veg only, filtered water, cranberry supplements, cystease, pineapple juice.. You name it, shes on it! After 2 months of double dose metacam, she is now on single dose for the past 3 weeks.. And so far no flare ups! The vet tested her urine today and it was clear! No blood for the first time in a few months- so all the other stuff is obviously helping more than the metacam. Her weight is also up a little, which is great for a piggy being on such a strict and limited diet.
So all good for my two oldies atm.. My little troopers! They came home and had an oat hay treat whilst i cleaned their beds :-)
