Mickelmarsh
Junior Guinea Pig
As I don't have any Guinea Pigs of my own I thought I'd share some photos of the rest of the family, starting with the Rats.
As well as the critters for adoption, that I've posted about in the rehoming section, Mickelmarsh Mouse House has quite a few permanent residents.
These boys are called Marmite and Twiglet.
They came to us when their owner was heading off to uni. They had spent their life so far in a Guinea pig cage with nothing to climb on and had also been given far too many treats.
The result: Two very fat rats with little muscle strength. They're gradually getting better at climbing but can't work a wheel for the life of them. They were over 2yrs old on arrival so don't know how long they'll be with us, especially considering their weight issues. So we're making sure to make every day count.
This photo is just to show quite how big Twiglet actually is.
He thinks he is a Gambian Pouched Rat!
Wilbur
Gordy
Wilbur and Gordy are brothers that both suffer with Myco, which is a respiratory illness. Luckily neither has had a bad spell recently and we're hoping it stays that way for sometime.
Wilbur loves his cuddles whereas brother Gordy is much more food orientated.
Bucky
This photo is of Bucky as a baby, it's one of my favourites and was taken to show him enjoying his new hammock made for us by Scritches Rodent Rescue.
Bucky was brought in for rehoming but was practically feral on arrival. Wilbur and Gordy arrived with us shortly afterwards and we began the bonding process. The three boys became such close friends we knew that Bucky would be staying put.
Sabrina
Sadie
Sabrina and Sadie are sisters. Sabrina spends most of her time running between tubes and does not like her photograph taken. She tends to just emerge for supper but will occassionally hang from the cage door bars, to remind us she's real. Sadie is a complete loon and that's why I had to share the photo of her cleaning my glasses. It captures her best. ^)
