Mum is very attentive and all 3 are suckling the bigger two also seem to have taken interest in kale and had a little nibble today but not seen fawn take any interest yet' all three do seem to be getting stronger and run round after mum all are squeeky and to look at them i would say they were gaining and looking stronger but of course the scale says differently I'm hoping i will see a gain on the scales tomorrow !
day 4 weigh in Layla 58g (2gram gain) (and also looks like a larry.. lolJust see what the scales are saying tomorrow. It usually takes about 2-3 days until the weigh gain begins, as it can take up to 24 hours for the milk flow to kick in and then 1-2 days for the babies' digestive system to get working. However, if all babies are struggling to put on weight by tomorrow, please have mum checked by a vet tomorrow as the problem is most likely lying with her.
You can provide stale wholemeal bread cubes which you have soaked in full fat goats milks for the babies to nibble on if there is a problem. Mushed up pellets with boiled, cooled water can also help enticing the pups to eat dry food sooner. Babies will nibble on solids from within a few hours of being born to learn what is safe to eat, but the mainstay of their food intake is milk during the first 2 week. By the end of the second week, they should eat mostly solids and mum will start with the weaning process.
i do too xOMG! I love them!![]()

very relieved but I'm going to take them to the vets anyways to be on the safe side .. going to try to get in tomorrow after work.. mum had a pee today and it looked very orange on the savings ive never seen it that colour before she had just been chewing a carrot tho .. ive been checking her bottom and it looks clean and poo looks normalGreat that they have started put on weight regularly now. That must be a real relief!
Please continue weighing daily.
