So I ordered two 1 kilo packs of Burgess Timothy Hay online and received last week, I instead received 2 1kg packs of Burgess barn dried grass. I rang them and told them they sent me the wrong order and they were very apologetic and sent 2 packs of burgess timothy hay out which arrived today which was infact 2 packs of barn dried grass AGAIN. Phoned and explained I received the wrong order again and was told that it was double checked this time and it is the correct order and that burgess must have changed the packaging so i explained to them that I checked their website and the timothy hay and this barn dried grass DOES have the same packaging except one says air dried timothy hay and the other says barn dried grass (they dont even have this product for sale on their website) so now they are saying their website is either wrong and incorrectly updated, burgess have changed their packaging or they have received the wrong order. They are getting hold of the supplier for me and phoning me back at some stage (probably never). I know some people feed the burgess barn dried grass to their piggies so I am wondering if burgess are now calling their timothy hay barn dried grass now or it is a different product all together.
This is what I ordered
This is what I got.
Am I going blind, It looks to me like same packaging but different product?
According to the Burgess website they only sell the Barn Dried Grass (what you received). There are other hays but they are the ones with bits of marigold and what not in.
It doesn't sound like the place you ordered it from knows the difference so I would contact Burgess and ask
Tel: +44 (0)1405 862241 (from their website)
The fibre content sounds great but there's no sign of calcium content and if this is just dried grass then it could be more like Readigrass, which sound be fed sparingly.
I was going to say contact burgess for clarification and then if the product you have received is correct you can a decision on returning the hay you have received or not. As it's not as advertised on the website you have the rights to a full refund
I have been looking for the Timothy hay with marigold and dandelion in it and all I have found is the feeding hay with dandelion and marigold, yet the packaging is similar.
I have checked in three different P@H shops and I cannot seem to find it either.
So as I predicted they did not get back to me so I think you are right and I should contact Burgess and luckily they have a Australian branch or do you think Burgess UK would be better? Naturally the piggies have to be difficult and love the hard to get hays, lucky they are so damn cute lol.

I did get some of the burgess dandelion and marigold about a month ago when we were in the city from the same place I got this hay from but I havnt opened it yet, they are still eating their oxbow botanical hay. I hope you get hold of some eventually. I swear sometimes hay makes me want to tear my hair out lol.

I get my boys the same hay, except I get mine from Amazon. I've just checked my last order and it was definitely the timothy hay I got, want me to try and find the Amazon link?

Actually I just looked, and I think Burgess have maybe just changed their packaging for the dandelion and marigold stuff. Amazon definitely sent me bags saying timothy hay, but the link to what I bought goes to feeding hay. It's sold directly from Amazon rather than via the marketplace, so I'd be surprised if their info wasn't correct.
So apparently the supplier never got back to them which is why I never heard back from them so they offered to send me some oxbow timothy hay and some burgess timothy hay with birch bark. I'm happy with that, piggies have tried both and liked it. I can at least say their customer service has been good.
