My two new female 6 week old guinea pigs have been settling in well. But a few days ago I noticed one of them had developed a slight scabby bald patch under her eye and the day after it got worse. So I was checking it out and noticed she had a few scabs/flaky skin around her ears too. Then I saw white dots around her ears and I sectioned parts of her fur apart and saw crawling lice in her fur! I then checked the other one and she has them too! what do I do?
Thanks in advance

I recommend you get some lice n easy shampoo from gorgeousguineas.com. That got rid of my pig's lice. :) You just bath them in it, it's really simple (follow the instructions they come with)

I'm not sure about the scabby patches though.

Gorgeous Guineas Lice n Easy shampoo is for piggies 12 weeks and over so I'd just check that's it's Ok to use on your piggies first :)

In view of the flaky ears, you may like to have your piggies checked over by a vet re. fungal and parasites treatment. Depending on where you got your piggies from and how long it is since you have had them, you can claim the vet cost from a shop.

Have answered on your other thread. I agree with Wiebke that a vet visit is needed, especially with the other symptoms.
