Heres is all three when they first arrived home. We had Germaine the grey and white Sheltoe for 4weeks and we were supposed to pick up other two the following week but Germaine had mites then a URI. She is all clear now though and so we onded the three girls at the rescue and took them all home. The other two are teddys. The tricolour is Lily, she is 3.5 yrs old and very comfortable around us from the first day. No fear! The orange and white one is Winnie who is actually an ex show pig the breeder couldn't use as she gave birth to still borns. She isjust over one year old and is very placid but doesn't like you coming near her or any sudden noises. When she is cuddling you though she could sit on your lap all night! I'll try get some better pictures..

here is Germaine and Winnie in their run

Lily up close and personal!

Lily again!

And here is Winnie and Germaine squished into that tiny house having a nap!

Lovely lucky girls.Looks liked great set up.Congratulations on your furry family

:wel:Awww lovely piggies and welcome to the forum. Take some time to have a look around the forum, introduce yourself, read the rules and tell us about yourself and when you have a moment give an idea of your country and county/state.

We're a lovely very friendly forum who are happy to give really good advice.

Gosh! Aren't they beautiful

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks! I have been stalking the forum for about two months now gathering information. We had a steep learning curve with Germaine having mites then uri! Thankfully all three are healthy now and bonded. Especially Germaine and Winnie, Lily keeps to herself a bit more.

Mites are awful, my heart goes out to you. Piggies can be a learning curve, hopefully you will be problem free now and can enjoy your girls. If you have any questions or queries on anything please ask, hopefully you have seen this is a friendly place and it's always nice to meet new piggie owners on here! Looking forward to seeing lots more of your gorgeous girlies!

I see you are from Ireland, north or south? Is your vet good? We are always on the lookout for recommendations in Ireland for vets...

South. Bairbre o malley is our vet. Guinea pig expert. She is fantastic!

Do you think Lily feels left out because the others spend all their time together? She sleeps on her own near them but does her own thing most of the time. When the trio were together in the rescue lily was at bottom of rankings and Germaine was the dominant pig, here Germaine is dominant but only ever asserts herself with Winnie (even though they are very close.

With a trio one will usually be left out. I think the only way you can solve this is to have four. Some guinea pigs do spend more time alone then others though.

Does she need a close friend or would she be ok with hanging close to the others? Space wise their cage is 2m square so they have lots of room but I wouldn't want to rush out and get another if not needed as I like them having space.

I would leave it as she is not being picked on. I have five guinea pigs and one of mine prefers to be alone.

Thanks! She is the most affectionate too so she gets a lot of cuddles from passersby! She is so brave! Even strangers she will run to bars and allow them to pet her!

Yes. she is very tame. She is older and has had very loving past owners which helps. This is Germaines 4th home. She is very hard to win over. She has no problem with me now after a month of hand feeding her veggies and handling her daily and sitting beside/in her cage chatting with her but she can't tolerate my boyfriends presence in the room at all. She is only slowly warming to him!

Aww poor baby having four owners. She sounds like anybody would be lucky to have her?

She takes a while to warm up to you and is quite skittish and bossy! But she is very cute and lively! She is slowly starting to put back on weight now. She was 850g when we got her and is now 980g. The others are huge next to her at 1.2kg (winnie) and a whopping 1.4 (Lily).

Well it is good she is having the correct diet now and has reached a healthy weight.

They are all gorgeous! I love teddies!

Great the poor girl is settling in. She sounds like quite a character!
