On Friday I adopted two little girls from Milhaven to go with one of my existing groups. They are both 5 months old, Ava is tricoloured and Neve is white with dark eyes, ears and a little grey spot on her nose, probably mismarked himi. While Ava is quite reserved and was grooming Charlotte earlier, Neve is full of beans and attitude. Neve still looks quite babyish but she is nipping the older piggies and tearing around the place. She likes to explore things, she popcorned round the hutch when she first went in and she has taken to sitting in the food dish.

Neve exploring the new house so quickly I couldn't get a pigture that wasn't blurred

Neve stopped exploring to refuel with the Charlotte and Tara while Reuben tried his luck with Ava

Then Reuben followed Ava downstairs and they realised there was food and joined the others.

Across the shed Louisa is recovering nicely from her lump removal yesterday. She is separated from her friends as last time she had an operation Francesca attacked her. I have been swapping the hay round so they can smell the same.

Louisa in her little bed with hay that smells like her friends.

Oh wow how many pigs do you have? Do they all live happily together?
I have 8 piggies, 7 girls and Reuben who is neutered. I have a group of five and a group of three, the new girls just joined Charlotte, Tara and Reuben to make 5. When Louisa has recovered from the operation she had yesterday I will hopefully be getting another neutered boy and another little girl to join her, Francesca and Jemima so I will have two groups of five. My hutches are huge, 33sq ft so plenty of room for five pigs in each. They do usually get on, the new girls are settling in just fine. Louisa is separated as last time she had a lump removed she came home smelling different and Francesca bit part of her ear off and bit her back so badly she has a large bald patch still. They appeared to have settled together fine but I found Louisa like that next time I went back. Despite this after a few days separation they were back together and fine but I won't risk it this time so they will have a few days apart.

Oh wow! That must be hard work but rewarding. I have 2 pairs of girls. I would ideally like to have all 4 living together but one from each pair fights with another so I cant see it happening!

Yeah some are just bossy, that's how I ended up with two groups. I wanted five all living together and wanted to add two babies to the group of three girls I had at the time. The babies got sick before I introduced them and one died. The other was Charlotte and she was quarantined and became very lonely so when I tried to introduce her when she was better she was too hyper for the older girls to cope with as she got bullied so I started a new herd for her. That was six years ago and Charlotte is now my eldest and is enjoying being mummy to new little Ava.

They are gorgeous! Much congratulations, will be expecting lots of piggy photos!

The two babies are gorgeous! A good recovery for Louisa and the best of luck for your further group plans!

Gorgeous piggies you have there! It must be hard work, but I'm guessing that it is also very rewarding.

They are a bit of hard work, especially when they are ill. I wouldn't change them for the world though.

I was lucky enough to see the new little girls today in their new home and they are delightful, they are so at home!
