About 1 1/2 wks ago I got my two 6 (now 7 1/2 ) week old girl piggies. Now named Pepper (Peppie for short) n Peachy they seem to be settling in okay. They live in our shed in a 4 x 2 hutch. They're on fleece but I've ordered some Finacard and Papelit paper pellets to switch them on to. They love popcorning when I rustle their bag of hay and run millions of laps round their piglu as fast as Usian Bolt upsetting their fleece and newspaper!
They're on Harringtons optimum food. Anyway Peachy is the more bold of the two and will eat comforably out of my hand while Peppie lingers back and tries to snatch food out of my hand and hide with it. They both dash back to their sleeping area and don't usually stay in the living area while I feed veggies they feel more comfortable eating in the safety of the sleeping area( which is dark). When they first arrived I could stroke them but now they just flick their heels and do the famous rodeo kick and avoid being touched. I feel jealous of all you guys who get to have snuggles with your pigs. I wish mine were like that. I would really like them getting used to being picked up but so far no succes as they are smooth coated and manage to slide out of my grip. I would like to be able to pick them up aswell incase they need their nail clipped or for other reasons like emergencies, vet trips, weighing etc. and I just would like to have a snuggle with them. x) Any advice? Thanks x
