My New Texel Baby :)

I finally have my texel! She is so beautiful :)
I picked her up from a texel breeder yesterday. She is still in the quarantine period until Saturday when I take her to the vet and as long as she get a clear bill of health I can start the bonding process with my other 3 princesses.
I'm one happy piggie momma :D
If any fellow texel owners have any tips on grooming that would be much appreciated! :)):luv: and if anyone has any suggestions for names that would be great. At the moment I think I'm going to call her Luna but I'm open to options.

She is sooooo fuzzy :love: and has such a pretty face. I love the name Luna!

Cannot wait to hear all about her over the next few weeks and see more pigtures.

Hope the bonding goes well after the quarantine - it will fly by

I do think I'll stick with Luna. It seems to fit. And I know she is super fuzzy! But she is so soft I couldn't believe it, I'd seen a lot of pictures of texels but I'd never stroked one so I assumed the hair would be coarse rather than soft.
Thanks I hope that the bonding goes well too husband is worried that they will hate each other and we will have to get another piggie as a friend for her! :)
 
I have never met a texel I would love to though one day. . I am sure it will all go well. How old is she?

7 weeks. It's funny because she looks twice as big as my short haired piggies at her age because of all her fluff!
 
the girl in my avatar (fizz after ginger girl in coronation street} was a texel. Total teddy bear, so cuddly. Gorgeous guineas shampoo specially for long hair. I used a wide tooth blunt comb for her and kept her back end trimmed short. She had bum baths and I teased out knots gently with my fingers. Any bad ones got cut out.

Fizz is beautiful and I love the name. Thank you for the advise I have read so much conflicting advise on the Internet, it's difficult to decided what's best!
 
She got fizzy pop most of the time.She was a real character and she was actually in my dressing gown sleeve.When she went in and snuggled didn't have the heart to move her when I needed the loo so just took the dressing gown off.There are photos somewhere in one of the threads of her with her Peruvian cage mate

I also like Luna for a name ... So much so one of my white sheltie twins is called Luna. Seems to suit the fuzzy hairy white piggies very well. :D
 
What a stunning little thing,I love Texels,the fur always reminds me of that course wool you can buy.
