My Oh Didn't Appreciate The Finer Side Of Gp Keeping!

Last night I was sharing my somewhat limited gp knowledge with my OH. We were talking about what I'd done with the gps yesterday I said that it was the usual check on their general health and well being ie the weekly check. He then asked me what that entailed. He was fine with the weighing, nails, ears and eyes bit but when it came to checking boar bits and giving the sows butt baths he just paled and said that he really didn't need to know that information to which I replied "well you did ask!"
He just thought keeping gps was about feeding and cuddling them which is a large part but you have to take the rough with the smooth!
 
My long suffering hubby just nods and makes I'm listening noises! I'm sure he couldn't repeat half of what I tell him about Piggy Care!
 
My partner helps out holding them for nail trims and holding Willow for bum fur trims. He even looks after them when I go away for a few days including doing twice a day poop picks, but I haven't been able to bring myself to tell him about the more intimate part of boar care. :vom:
 
My boyfriend and I adopted our boars together (it was actually him who chose Corduroy because he looked like "a cuddly potato"). It's turned out to be me, though, who does all of the daily cleaning, feeding, floor time, vet trips, purchasing of new items, etc.. and me who has done hours of research. Like a child, he lost most of his interest in them within a month :doh: I told him about boar glue and sperm rods the other day and he nearly gagged!
 
Luckily I have never had to contend with sperm rods and wouldn't know what they look like when "in situ" or how to deal with them either!
 
My OH talks non stop about our herd of 8. He has built the table the cage is on and is fast enough to look at new toys in shops and ask if they are safe for the fluffs. He cleaned his shed so we could stock up on hay bales for the winter.

He loves cuddles and he sneaks them treats and nuggets when I am not looking.

He wouldn't have any idea how to give a bum bath, trim nails, or even clean the cage
 
My boyfriend loves the pigs but he refuses to do any "intimate" work on them.

He says that smelling Podricks burning tyre rumbling smell is already more than he signed up for. But that doesn't stop him cuddling him.
 
So the cage magically cleans itself? I'd love a self cleaning hutch! Where do you get those from? :hmm:
 
I don't think I will ever tell my fiance how amorous archie is with me and how much I spoil him. Archie's latest thing is he now sleeps under my soft VS blanket, which when I got it, I had a huge fight with my fiance because he wanted to roll around under it and I wouldn't let him. He already has me on an Archie ban (not allowed to talk about "the rat").
Though to be fair, Archie is so adorably cute and he never plays boring video games for nearly the entire day :td: so he deserves to be under the blanket.
