Nope Helen :( I have read something about this in posts before. Is it to settle his tummy. should I ring the vet in the morning and get some?

I would yes as Marbocyl is part of the same family as Baytril I think. Here is a link:

http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/...vitamin-c-overview-with-product-links.115404/

They need to be given at least an hour after the Marbocyl dose and I would syringe it or put on a little bit of veg rather than putting it in his water.

Oh no! Poor Oreo :( Healing wheeks to your lovely boy and hugs to you x
Thank you hun, he needs all the healing vibes on offer because as he was poorly from birth he's abit under weight (I'm doing my best to fatten him up, without over doing it). They vet weighed him today and he's 740g (my new piggy scales are rubbish lo) x

I know, poor little guy - I remember when you joined the forum and all three were undergoing intensive ringworm treatment :( I hope he makes a speedy recovery; sometimes it feels like one thing after another doesn't it!

I am ever so sorry for the bad diagnosis; it is not quite easy to feel lumps in the tummy, especially when they are not in places that you touch regularly. You have noticed as early as likely possible.

I am keeping my fingers firmly crossed for Oreo!

PS: I have merged the two threads for you.

It sure does, he's a real fighter I hope he fights this too. He seems fine apart from his lower tummy being sore to touch, the lumps his watery eyes and him seeming abit under the weather (just not quite himself), I hope this is a good sign we have picked up on it early.

Best wishes to Oreo and yourself, we will be keeping fingers and paws crossed, also sending healing wheeks from Buddy and Diesel.

Marbocyl is one of the more expensive antibiotics I'm afraid, but it is well tolerated & it isn't as harsh on tummies like Baytril. They should have some Avipro in stock, or you could get Pro C from Pets at Home which is a little bit cheaper x

Thank you for all these fantastic messages of support and healing vibes, your support on here means the world to me, you all kept me going last time I would of be lost with out you xx
Here's oreo from 2mins ago munching on hay with his buddy Alex :) and I battled the weather to clean out their hutch while they have been happily popcorning around my utility room, here's a pic of their new cozy fleece I hope they like it.

Is he having the marbocyl by tablet or injection? I think it works much better by injection and affects the gut much less x
Hi, The vet has given him it orally. I rang them first thing to ask about giving him probiotic with the antibotics and they said he didn't give it to me because oreo is eating normally, drinking, ative, passing waste normally etc so ive got to keep an eye on him (which I am) for any signs of these things changing and I should contact them straight away :)

What a lovely big clean hutch! I'm sure the boys will love the new fleece. What a great idea to connect two boxes with a chube.
I must try that. I think my young ones especially would love that.
Best of luck with Oreo.
