Senior Guinea Pig
I know. I had hoped they would like each other. I think it's fear agression from Humpty as they like each other through the bars.Gorgeous piggies and photos, good luck with the calendar. They make a lovely couple, it's a shame they don't like each other, hope they change their minds.

This is like Humpty. He lyes beside the bars looking in at Solo and has even groomed him through the bars. But attacks him if there's no divider. I don't know what to do for the best. However Solo is eating again so that's a bonus. My husband isn't working at the moment so wants us to stick at 2 piggies. I wish I could get Solo a friend to live with.Red and Caspy were like that. Would look for each other at the bars, sleep and eat next to each other but just would not share a cage. With them though it started after Red bit Caspy, they had lived together for 3 months before this. Caspy was just to afraid of Red without the divider after Red's teenage hormones got the better of him. Such sweet little furries, but so complicated sometimes!
That's the thing. Humpty has been tried with a lot of boars at the rescue and attacks them all. I wouldn't take him back as I've seen him become so happy here. I will probably just keep them as they are and eventually try them again. When Bracken died I paired Caspy with Rusty, (tried Red first - disaster!). I hoped Red could still stay in the other part of the cage with the divider but there was no way that was going to work. I left them for a few weeks to see if things would settle down, every time Rusty came out of a hidey Red threw himself at the bars in a frenzy of anger, he hates poor quiet Rusty on sight. Caspy didn't want to know Red anymore, he had his own friend. If you got Solo a friend what would you do with Humpty? Could Humpty go back to the rescue and be paired wth another boy to be rehomed? I agonised over this, at one point I was going to get in touch with a rescue and see if they could rehome Red to sows if I had him neutered and nursed him post neueter, my partner didn't want me to let him go. I've ended back with 6 piggies and crossed fingers Red and Brillo manage to stay together. Boar bonding at Rescue is not an option for us sadly as this would have been the best option.
I will probably just keep them as they are and eventually try them again.
