Hi, my piggie doesn't want to eat. Her tooth was hurt and she stopped eating. The vet had to trim it, but it didn't help. Her weight is now only 520 grams. She would eat just a few pellets per day. Now she is still tired and sad. I think that the tooth doesn't hurt her anymore, cause she is quiet while eating. Earlier she was "crying". I think it's just psychic problem.

Any tips how make her happy and hungry again, please?

That doesn’t look right! Is there a gap between the teeth? I would start syringe feeding her and see about taking her back to the vet. Is the vet you used guinea pig savvy?

How much weight has she lost and over what period of time?

Complete Syringe Feeding Guide

Tagging @Wiebke. Others will be along later who are more knowledgable.

I agree - that needs a piggy savvy vet.
Please syringe her - mushed up pellets will be fine if you don't have any Critical care.

Let us know how you get on

Her two incisors are growing rather strange, what are the upper incisors like? Did she break any front teeth? I would try to find a piggie savvy vet. Where abouts do you live, we might be able to help recommend a vet if we know where you live.
in the meantime please start syringe feeding using the above guide to help you. So sorry, you must be very worried x

Those teeth are not growing normally. They should be side by side, straight up and down. It's definitely worth trying to find a vet who is knowledgeable about guinea pig teeth to do a full assessment- if you post your location, hopefully someone can make a suggestion. If your guinea pig isn't eating, please check the article about syringe feeding Critical Care or softened pellets with water in order to keep her going while you figure out a longer term plan. Guinea pigs who are not eating can run into far more serious and even fatal problems, like gut stasis or bloat, when they do not eat regularly, so making sure some food is going into her is really important to her prognosis. Best of luck and hope you can get her teeth sorted out!

Try seeinf if your pig will eat mushed nuggets, soaked in water and left to go mushy, then placed in a bowl. Until you can get. A vet to correct this, as well as syringe feeding ofcorse

Has anyone recommended Simon Maddock at the Cat & Rabbit Clinic to you?
He is highly recommended by forum members who have piggies with dental issues.
He’s based in Northampton if you can get there.

Sorry my phone went off. SO...

We tried syringe, she is better now. So she ate soaked pellets and some mashed vegetable. She even ate some solid watermelon afternoon. However she still won´t eat dry pellets or hay. Fortunately she made a pile of poop :)

I am from Slovakia :)

Our vet didn´t do anything to straighten the hurt tooth. He just trimed all 4 incisors. It was good for a while, but now they have grown back and situation just got worse. She lost about 120 in 3 weeks.

Aw, so sorry for you both, what an awful time for you both. The incisors will keep growing and unless they are rubbing against each other through eating they will keep getting longer x
