My Piggie Duo!

I just want to let everyone know that, sadly at one year and almost one month. My baby boy bear has died in my arms. I don’t know what happened. He was fine this morning and this afternoon and evening. I went to put them to bed and he was floppy, trying to drag himself along, but it also looked like he couldn’t breath, gasping for air.

I stayed with him and he passed away in my arms, surrounded with love and my singing. I’m so distraught. He was my baby bear. My favourite boy.

I’m so upset.

Guinea pigs are very good at hiding illness
Please look after yourself as you grieve

Thank you guys, honestly though he was completely fine, popcorning and everything. I personally believe it could have been some heart issue, or maybe a stroke or something? I don’t know but that’s what I wish to believe.

It just happened so instantly. One minute he was happy and himself, the next he was dying 😭
 
Suck a shock for you but a quick trip to the rainbow bridge for Bear. ❤️
 
I am so sorry that you lost Bear in such a tragic way.
You gave him so much love and care and he passed away enfolded in that love.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve.

Badger is so strikingly beautiful and I love Brush’s colouring. You will indeed be brushing Brush to keep him in mint condition!
 
Does anyone know how to get little brush to be more confident? He’s really shy and still hides away 🥺 the only time he’ll come out is if you’re really quiet and even then he is spooked easily.

Yes he is with badger but maybe it’s just his personality? I love him none the less. And he loves his kisses.

He’s such a sweet boy, he’s just really scared and timid apart from when you pick him up. He stays out for a little while then heads back in his house. I’ve never had such a timid Guinea before 🥺 💛

I’ve had him since January 14th, it’s only been two weeks, unless it’s normal? 💛
 
Bribery with food always works for me but it takes a very long time especially if they are particularly timid. My Espresso used to be afraid of her own shadow but now climbs the bars begging for food and let’s me pat her head like a dog but it took years of hand feeding some of her veggies through the bars and the weekly pea flake treats!

I’ve had Moses and Miriam for over a year now.
They were rescues and were very scared when I got them.
It’s taken the best part of a year to get them to the stage of taking food from my hand.
They still run and hide if I’m around and don’t permit petting.
They are getting better with health checks.

Give Brush lots of time and patience

Oh don’t get me wrong! He takes his veggies from me and lets me pick him up and everything. It’s just he’s very skittish and won’t come out his house unless you act like a statue and any movement he bolts xD he’s such a lovely boy though. Hopefully time will help!
