My two Guinea pigs have been getting fur loss and I don't know why

Can you update your location please ? Give us a rough idea of where you are based :) Fur loss can be a variety of reasons, it is best to get a proper diagnosis by a vet :)

Ok well we have a vet locator at the top of the page, have a look for your nearest cavy savvy vets :) I'm guessing you are quite young so we don't need your exact location but an area would help (Like Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire/Suffolk etc) :D Can you put a picture on here to show us what the hair loss looks like? How long have you had the piggies?

Hiya and :wel:!

I would recommend taking your guinea pigs to a vet. You can use the vet locator or if you tell us your county like West Surrey then we can help you find a good vet to help your guinea pigs.
I hope they get better soon. x :)

Please could you put your location on your profile as it helps us to help you, especially on future threads. Agree with the others that you need to see a vet, it could be mange mites or fungal but they both have different treatments. You may find the vet wants to test for fungal but please be aware that only Ringoworm tends to show up in tests, whereas there are many different types of fungal.

Hello and welcome! Sending healing vibes! I second and third a vet :D

Hi and welcome!

How long have you had your guinea pigs and how old are they? Where is the hair loss area? Are they outdoors or indoors guinea pigs?

I agree, hair loss can have different causes, which require different treatment. Please have them seen by a preferably piggy-savvy vet, so they get the appropriate treatment of good quality and the right dosage for their age. Please do not home treat on spec with low dosed shop products, as you can easily make things worse than better.
Here is our recommended piggy-savvy vet locator: https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/pages/guinea-pig-vet-locator/

We have got members from all over the world. You can help us a lot if your please added your country and/or your county to your details, so we can always tailor any advice to what you can do and what is available where you are. Please do not give out any further details than that for your own security. To do this, click on your username on the top bar, then go to personal details and scroll down to location.
