Junior Guinea Pig
Wasn't sure whether to post this in Food or Behavior, but it was so funny that I had to post it SOMEWHERE!
Alan and Herbie have adjusted to my new work schedule in a curious way, knowing EXACTLY when each feeding time throughout the day occurs. For their lunch time when I come home on my break, I see them waiting at the door of their enclosure. Just waiting and staring. When I open the door, they mount the bars and stick their faces out. When I bring the food...they push their faces into their bowls...and make me stand there and wait while they take what they want, munch for a bit, come back for more, etc...I have literally become a waitress for guinea pigs! Same thing with hay...while they have a trough, they seem to like it better when they eat out of my hand. I feel like I should be donning a white napkin over my wrist and use a fantastically proper accent while addressing them during feeding time...perhaps start calling myself Jeeves...
