Wasn't sure whether to post this in Food or Behavior, but it was so funny that I had to post it SOMEWHERE!

Alan and Herbie have adjusted to my new work schedule in a curious way, knowing EXACTLY when each feeding time throughout the day occurs. For their lunch time when I come home on my break, I see them waiting at the door of their enclosure. Just waiting and staring. When I open the door, they mount the bars and stick their faces out. When I bring the food...they push their faces into their bowls...and make me stand there and wait while they take what they want, munch for a bit, come back for more, etc...I have literally become a waitress for guinea pigs! Same thing with hay...while they have a trough, they seem to like it better when they eat out of my hand. I feel like I should be donning a white napkin over my wrist and use a fantastically proper accent while addressing them during feeding time...perhaps start calling myself Jeeves...

Meanwhile, Nola watches them from her home, mortified. She is much more dainty. :P

And why shouldn't you? Any self respecting guinea pig slave would!

"My dear sirs, it appears that you prefer the crunchy orange bits to the smaller green ones...shall I spend the remainder of the evening picking out the more choice pieces of cuisine out of the entire bag so as not to waste your valuable time in future?...Yes?...Why, of course. No problem."
