eat much extra food you know, ive tried them with apple, tomatos, brocolli, and cabbage(ive only had them for a week) and they have a little sniff and a nibble and then dont touch it after that.ive been giving them something every other day because they dont seem interested. i brought them and stick of something from p@h though, and it fixes to there bars, and theyve been having a good nibble on that though. is this ok, will they start to to like veggies as they get older? gemx:))

try some cucumber and pepper, I have fussy pigs but they seem to love this rolleyes

No, you have to treat them like children faced with a school meal full of healthy veg!

Your piggies have obviously never had any veg before, and it might take a while until they eat it.

Best you introduce one veg at a time and leave it lying round for the day, so they get used to the smell and the texture of it. Reintroduce it again later. Eventually, they'll get the hang of it!

let them have some more time to settle in. gilbert didn't like veggies the first time i gave them to him, but now he's crazy for them! your piggies will definitely grow to like veggies. never heard of a pig who doesnt like veggies:)):))rolleyesrolleyes when that happens, you'll wish it never did:)):))

Yes i agree, it takes time if they haven't been bought up eating veggies from early age. Our boys had to be taught, all i did was continually offer them veggies the same one for a day, then go right thru all the diff veggies, they'll soon teach you what they like ;)
Don't fret tho, as long as they're getting lots of hay, pellets and fresh water they'll be fine :)

thanks everyone, ill persevere, ill try cucumber today, ill only give them a little bit though because i think there about eight or nine weeks old.gemx

Mine are very stubborn and won't try new things.

they won't taste anything new. So, I put one on my lap, get the veggie and just slowly push it to their lips until they have a taste.
If they don't like it, they pull away but if they do like it, they start munching on it.
I find it's a good way to get them to try stuff.

I'd try Parsley...Piggies all over the world seem to go nuts for the stuff.
And Cucumber...They really love that, too.

oh thanks for that-ill go and get some parsley tomorrow then. i filled one of my ramakin dishes today with some cucumber and some cabbage, and they have eaten most of it actually, but it seems to be punky thats eating it more than drizzle! gemx

mine just wont touch tomatoes or bananas...but seem to love everything else. Its funny, i'll refresh their hay..their pellets..and yet they stand there(yes, i said stand! they started standing!!:<>) waiting for the fresh veggies! Like saying "Um....MOOOOOMMMM, where are the veggies??!!"
I hate to run out one day and have to leave for work.....their little piggie lips would haunt me allll day long! I'd have to leave work early to buy veggies! :(|)
