Hello out there. My piggies eye is getting really bad I think he's going blind and might need surgery to remove eye. I'm going to take him to vet. Just wanted to post and any information is helpful and please no rude comments. 20170809_220135.webp

Eye removal (enucleation) is quite a simple opp, but it may not need it!
You really need to get a good vet to examine it to see if it is infected, or causing any problems before considering asking for the eye to be removed

A vet visit is definitely needed. They will either give you some eye drops for it, or if it is bad then they will discuss eye removal with you.

It will be very painful so he needs to go today.

One of my pigs had an eye removed, and he was fine.

go only to an exotic vet because the medicines for a piggie are different. And don't worry because piggies' sight is not necessary for a good quality of life; anyway, don't waste time because a stupid infection can reach the brain, due to the short distance eye-brain (and optical nerve goes to the brain). How did the disease start? Let us know what the vet will say.
Hugs!
(why are you worrying about rude comments? it is not your fault if your piggie's eye is ill...)

You are right, that needs to be seen by a vet ASAP! Eye injuries deteriorate very quickly, but with your good care and determination to get the required amount of drops and gel in, spaced as evenly as possible around the clock, they often heal well despite looking rather horrible.
Hopefully yours should still be addressed medically; it depends on how bad the damage of the poke is.

Please ask for visco tears and as well if your vet is not prescribing them in order to keep the eye lubricated and hydrated; apply any visco tears only after at least a 30 minute gap after the antibiotic gel or drops.
Painkiller/anti-inflammatory is also needed on top of antibiotic drops.

That looks like a hay poke or injury and you are right that a vet visit is in order! Hopefully something can be tried to heal the eye before removal becomes necessary, like a painkiller and antibiotic eye drops. Fortunately pigs do not rely that much on their eyesight so if he does lose the eye he will likely adjust just fine... but hopefully it won't come to that! Best of luck at the vet!

Within a day or two his whole eye just turned red and gray. And then it started fading and now his much better

very good! it looks normal now, the red visible on your pic seems to be the normal reflex of the flash. Piggies have their immune system which usually works perfectly. Did your piggie get a medicine then? One of my piggies had a watery eye (nothing serious, though) which recovered just washing it with water and salt. The important thing is to keep OUR eyes well open and start a therapy when it is necessary.
Your piggie is really cute!
