A while back I posted about my runt pig who I tried to save but sadly couldnt and was concerned about the welfare of mum and her 3 other babies.

I have 3 very healthy babies, a girl and 2 boys, and a healthy mum so a very BIG thankyou to all of you who advised me.

I'm keeping my gang, my little girl will stay with mum.......can I keep the two boys together? I know that males can fight but am wondering if they will be ok as they have grown up together?

Good news that the others are all thriving!

You can keep your boys together. They have as much of a chance of making it together as any other combination of males - success depends largely on the combination of characters. We have quite a few pairs of brothers that are still together on the forum. The dangerous time are the stroppy hormonal months between about 4-10 months old.

Make sure that your boys have lots of space and everything in twos: hides, bowls, water bottles, hay racks etc. if you can.

You could always consider having your boys neutered and living with either mum or sister as in case of a fall out; cross gender pairings are very stable. Otherwise, you can always keep them side by side separated by grids or mesh, so they can still interact and have each other's company but each with his own territory.

Hiya, yes you can keep the brothers together, and mum and daughter together. The boys will need to leave the girls at age 3 weeks to ensure no further mating. It is likely the boys will be fine together and hopefully come through puberty well without squabbling. xx
