Hi, can anyone offer advice please?
My guinea stopped eating almost overnight. I took her to the vet who said there was nothing obvious wrong.
I’ve been syringe feeding her. She tries desperately to eat leaves, but seems unable to- as if she can’t get food into her mouth.
Anyone seen this before? What to do?

That sounds like a dental issue. Do you have a cavy savy vet?

Did the vet check her teeth thoroughly- not just the incisors in the front, but the molars at the back? Often when pigs want to eat but can't, the back teeth are to blame, and some vets who don't have much experience with guinea pigs can miss these problems.

Thanks so much for replying. The vet took her out of the room to get help from a nurse so I didn’t actually see any checking. I’ll do some research and find a more specialist vet.
