I want to thank everybody who helped me when I found my 2 babies outside in the cold almost 3 years ago. I wish i could've monitored them more than I did but with my mother recently passing away and trying to take care of my grandparents. it's been really difficult. Now one of my piggies stopped eating over the weekend and this area has no vets that take guinea pigs within an hour radius and none are open on the weekend
I tried feeding him with a dropper but then had to go to work and when I came back he was dead. I feel terrible. I want to get another so brownie doesn't have to be lonely but I don't think I have the time in my life to give them the full care they need. I put so much time and money into their care but I could never find a proper vet in the area and don't have a vehicle.

So sorry to hear . How very sad for you after taking the babies in from the cold and giving them all that love.

Also with your other major responsibilities you have done so well.

I had an awful experience with my beloved Olivia 3 months ago . I was able to take her to the Vet but it didn’t do any good . So these are fragile little creatures.

Look after yourself and your remaining piggie.

Big hugs from Hampshire, England..

So sorry for your loss.
You clearly love your piggies and have done everything possible in a difficult situation.
For Brownie, there are options

Do you have access to this rescue ?
Judges Park Small Animal Rescue, Edinburgh, Pennsylvania.
It’s the only one I could find in Pennsylvania on the Guinealynx website.
I know it’s quite a big state and I have no idea of where different places are.

Guinealynx also suggest the Humane Society but didn’t seem to list them.

If you can get to one of these you may be able to foster a companion for Brownie on the understanding that the piggy will go back when you lose Brownie.

Alternatively you may decide that surrendering Brownie is the better option under the circumstances.
That would be a difficult decision to make and needs to be carefully thought out.

I don’t know if any of this is helpful.

Be gentle with yourself as you grieve.
Hugs 🤗

I'm so sorry for your loss!
I also understand problems like trying to take piggies to a faraway vet's without a vehicle. Plus you had a lot of other difficult and big stuff going on. Please try not to feel guilty, tho I know from experience with my own piggies that that's easier said than done.

Hugs
