I adopted Juno in may when she was a baby. She is super sweet and very loving to me. she loves to lay on me on her side stretched out and sleeps, she actually closes her eyes for a few minutes. when I adopted her I had read that piggies love other piggies, a week after adopting her I went out and adopted another female piggy from the same place and same holding because they were according to the owners born together. well Juno did not like that at all and nonstop bit the other piggy, chattered her teeth at the other piggy, humped the other piggy, and lunged at the other piggy. I thought maybe she just doesn't like that piggy. I've tried introducing 3 different piggies to her and she just dislikes other piggies, seems like she only wants me and my attention. she is the sweetest little piggy to me, always giving me piggy kisses, always snuggling with me. her diet is pellets, fresh veggies, grass, hay, apples (she loves apples). her cage is 63" long x 48" wide, she has one side for food, water, and bedding for piggy business. she has the other side lined with fleece that has her hide, her soft bed, toys, and a mirror. I take her out for a few hours a day to play with her in her play pin. I did all my research on proper care etc before adopting her, the only problem that i am coming across is the fact that she cannot stand other piggies. I don't get it. She LOVES my dog Hades and Hades loves her. Hades yesterday gave her his teddy and she laid on it, it was super cute. I'm just not understanding that if piggies prefer the company of other piggies then why doesn't Juno like other piggies. I actually did try introducing them in neutral territory and letting Juno duke it out but she doesn't stop trying to duke it out. She seems to only prefer me and Hades. Any ideas as to why she refuses other piggies?

She is SUPER CUTE

Normally when it comes to bonding girls you see that behaviour for up to around 2 weeks, they take a while to settle down. It's lovely that you're trying to find her a friend, just got to be persistent!

How old is she, and how old are the piggies you've tried to bond her with? Sometimes it's down to different personalities, it's highly unlikely that she just doesn't like other pigs.

Ideally you wanna look for a submissive sow who's younger than her, as she seems to be quite dominant. If you're working along side a rescue, see if they have a piggy that fits that description. If not, an older but very submissive sow might be worth a try too.

As long as there's not a huge fight (blood drawn, hackles up, head on) then you've just got to observe. I know it's hard as it looks horrible, but the humping, teeth chattering and bum biting is all par for the cause. It's stressful for you I know, I bonded 2 and 2 piggies this year which shortened my life lol.

Good luck for you and your beautiful baby!

She is about 8 months old. :) lol! She loves my 87lb dog, she snuggles with him. I've tried 3 different piggies. each piggy i spent a week trying to introduce her to and she just doesn't seem to take. like I said she only seems to take to me and my dog lol! She's a spoiled little one. I open her habitat and she stands up at the door to be petted and picked up. she has such an odd ball personality not of a piggy from everything i've read lol

She's lovely.Have you looked at the recommended rescue locator on the site to see if there's any near to you.A good rescue will let you 'date' your girl until she finds a pig she likes x
I have not, I didn't even know that was possible lol! that's such a fantastic idea! thank you, i'll look into it. :)

Bless lol. What sort of aged piggies have you tried to introduce and what were their personalities? Did they try to challenge her? With piggy bonding it's a case of match personalities, hence the term "dating" XD

When you say she doesn't take, how do you mean? I love the odd ball piggies, I have a few myself XD :)

It's definitely worth trying a rescue, younger and submissive is usually the way to go. The rescues should know their piggies personalities so will be able to help.

It can take a long while for them to settle, around 2 weeks normally. My girls took about 3 weeks and still have an occasional arguement over the best piece of hay! They still have the humping moments when they're in season too!

Very sweet with your dog, not sure they can speak piggy though :))
