My Piggy Loves Lying In Sand

I've noticed before that when my piggies are in the outside run, Patches always carefully digs all the hay and bedding aside and makes herself a nice hole in the sand to lie in.

Tonight I put a tray of lawn grass I've been growing in their cage as a snack. Went to put my son to bed and came back to find that not only had they eater every last piece of grass in the tray, but Patches had also dug out a bunch of sand and plonked herself down in the hole in the tray!



I removed the the tray and she still insists on lying in the remaining sand...

Oh my, I laughed at the 2nd pic! Bit of chooken going on there! Maybe it's comfy to lay on sand?

That is hilarious.
I was about to say why on earth do they have sand, but now it makes sense.
My lot have also had grass trays, but they just eat the grass - no digging.
I think your piggie is a bit confused and thinks she might be a rabbit!
