My Piggy Was Hooting This Morning?

I was woken up around 4AM by what I thought was an owl outside, then noticed it was coming from the cage. I believe it was being made by my Piglet. I'm not entirely sure if she was sleeping, but I lifted the pigloo and pet her (she never lets me pet her so I think she wasn't quite awake yet) and then she walked away. I was able to pick her up and cuddle for a bit while I checked her over and everything was normal for her.

I decided to weigh her though. Two weeks ago, she weighed 1060 grams, one week ago 1032, and this morning it was 1005. After I got back from class it was all the way down to 986. After feeding in the afternoon I checked again and she was back up to 1030. So, does she just have a drastic weight variation throughout the day? I'm going to weigh at the same times tomorrow and compare to see if that is normal for her.

I have not heard the hooting noise again and Piglet is acting as she normally does. She's eating well. I haven't seen her drink water but she has never needed to drink much as she gets it from her veggies.

Would it be necessary to take her to the vet or should I just stay on high alert and continue with weighing/checking in often as I'm already doing?

If she seems ok within herself and is eating and drinking I would simply switch to daily weighing for now.
Their weight can fluctuate a great deal over the course of a day, so pick one time and stick to it - don't be tempted to keep checking at different times as you will just make yourself anxious.

Make a note of her weight, and if it continues to drop or you notice other symptoms then she will need to see a vet to work out why.

Thank you! I weighed her again this morning and she was 990g whereas yesterday at the same time she was 996g. She is acting normally and has not made that noise again so I'm hoping it was just a one time thing.
