Well if it makes you feel better the Oh has to chase ours around, but once they are on our laps they are fine also the little horrors lets me pet & feed them when they are in the cage, mine are nearly 2 yrs old.

Hi and welcome

Please remember that guinea pigs are prey animals and not naturally born cuddlers. If your are shop or breeder bought, they have virtually not had any human interaction before you acquired them.

Please have a read through these guides here; they have lots of tips on how you can avoid predator behaviour and use guinea pig body language to make friends with them. They also explain about guinea pig instincts.

We have got a guide collection for new owners that aims to answer the most frequently asked questions by new owners as well as providing some important information on areas that new owners are often not aware of to minimise problems in the longer run.

I pick my two up in fleece snuggle sacks because I have a wriggler and i'm afraid to drop her. I have to remove all their hidey's from the cage first though (they only have two hideys at the moment) but then when I drop the sacks in they just run straight into them because they have no where else to hide and they are used to the routine now.
