Hi all,
Since I seperated johnny from my girls they have almost doubled in size! Not any longer/taller just fatter (don't tell them I said that ;) ) I'm still feeding them the same (well taking away johns portion) and they seem so chubby!

They have a bowl (1 pet scoop) of p@h pellets in the morning, a breakfast bowl of mixed fruit and veg mid day with a constant supply of hay.

Veg normally consists of garden herbs, cucumber, carrots and maybe some grass on a nice day.

They get daily exercise in a 6x4 run for a few hours in the evening.

So why the sudden weight gain? I had to help brandy out of her tube last night because she was stuck!

Am I feeding them wrong?

Lack of stress can lead to weight gain.

How old are your girls, anyway?

Maybe I should add they get a rotation of fruit/veg such as water cress, cabbages, broccili, orange, apple, banana, and a few others (normally what evers safe on the 'cheap tray' at morrisons!)

carrots can be quite fattening as they have lots of sugar in them..... maybe try something else and only give carrot 2 or 3 times a week. I am assuming that they are definitely NOT pregnant

They are 5/6 months old now. And I should hope not! Or else some1s got some explaining to do! They have been with johnny for 6 weeks (there abouts). I had him from a local guinea pig person who said he was deffo neutered by his old owner!

I had to take him away because he was bullying them though, so they are deffinately not pregnant!

At that age they are simply growing - first sideways and next lengthwise.

If you are worried that they are overweight, cut back on their pellets - but only after they have reached their adult weight and size at 12-15 months! WAY to go yet!
