My two piggy's Dave and Derek had their first bath this evening as the photos will show when I mentioned the word bath they tried to hide lol but they are so fluffy after their bath and they aren't very happy with me at the moment but nothing that their favourite treat from me won't sort out I hope lol x

Lol, fluffy!

I have no idea when I am going to have my first crack at this. I've heard so many variations on how often is recommended. The rescue said twice a year but I have no idea when they last got one.

I only bathed mine when one had ringworm :/ ... it was an experience..... they were not happy lol ! Unlike me.. i love my baths

I've already bathed mine this year, but only because I wanted them to bond & have no smells of any other pig :) I've bathed all of mine over their lifetimes, for various reasons but mostly because they were getting stinky :D I'm quite a dab hand now & blow dry them (set on warm, not too close as to cause any harm). One of them was an ex show pig so she was perfectly used to it, Ziggy is ok as she had fungal baths before I got her & the new girl seemed ok too. Use a bath if you are not experienced & put a towel along the bottom so they can get a grip & be very careful not to get water in their noses. Ours get them about 4 times a year.

I was very nervous to begin with I did follow all the advice on here about how to bath your piggy's for the first time Dave our white pew wasn't to bothered he just plodded around in the sink Derek our black dutch decided nope now is not his bath time and made a break for freedom up my kitchen worktop lol I'm thinking of only bathing them if its necessary I had to today as Derek had mess stuck in his fur poor boy x

Lol oh I know I'm finding all this out as these are our first piggy's as soon ad I said to them right boys its bath time they tried to hide as the picture shows I couldn't help but laugh bless them let's hope I'm forgiven by the morning lol x

What cuties! Bathing is a nightmare for me because I have a pig that has been terrified of baths the entire five years I've had her. I only bathe them anymore if they're absolutely filthy. If the hydrophobic pig needs a bath, there's no doubt I'll end up soaked, scratched, and possibly bitten.

Oh no boys ! :D Luckily mine are girls so no probs on that account ;) The joys of owning white piggies though.....baths are inevitable lol :D
I thought I was going to have to when brown Jenny wiped tomato all over white Timmy's back. But she nibbled off the big bits and the rest of it faded in a day or two so I wriggled out of it that time :)

thank you all i was forgiven about 2 days later lol yep Dave being white is a bit of a challenge to keep him clan so i brush him every evening to try and keep him looking smart but he just goes and rolls in the hay as soon as he goes back in his cage lol, Derek loves being brushed he just sits there eating his veggies while my daughter brushes him lol x

Bathing for me is a two person job and only when both piggies get a bit stinky! I find when their bums get greasy and they're not as 'pleasant' to snuggle, it's time for a bath! They're both not too bad, it's the "why are you doing this to me?" faces that get to me.. :soz:
