Now my boys can't get out in their run with it being cold and wet, I thought I'd treat them to an indoor playpen. Which is slightly larger than I expected, and literally takes up the entire kitchen, but heyho...

So I brought them in today for a run in it. There is now no sign of any guinea pigs, just a bright green pigloo shuffling across the floor, seemingly by itself :))

haha thats brilliant! Bet thats hilarious to watch you should get a video clip :))

Haha. :) It will take them a little time but eventually they will enjoy it.

Have i got it right that they are being bought in from outside?

Or did you mean from a heated shed/garage?

Only if its straight from outside this isnt good for them, because of the extreem temperature change when they go in/out.

Yes it is from their hutch outside, however I did think of that so I've left the back door open a bit - they're not in a direct draught but equally they're not too warm :) (Never mind me, I'll just freeze :)) )

Ahh. Good to know. I would still be wary once the weather gets more extreeme. maybe you have a garage or shed the run could go in?

The run is far too big to go in the shed. One option would be to put the run on the patio, but obviously in very cold weather I would imagine it would be too cold, even with fleece underneath. I feel sorry for them, cooped up in their hutch. It is a big hutch, but they've spent all summer outside in their outdoor run. Hmmmm, might need to think it over a bit.

awww my pepper used to do that before he passed, only he was like a snail cos his big bum couldnt get out once it got in, god love him x

rip baby x

Mine have been having up to 3 hours of play time outside in their run lately,(on the patio)it's been so dry and mild. When I pick them up they feel lovely and warm. I put a small piece of vet bed under their hidey houses.
They're right outside my kitchen door and because I'm at home all day I can assess what the weather is doing and put them back in their hutch accordingly.

I always put this sort of thing down to my piggies being a little out of the closet and wanting to be interior designers, whenever i get up i see somethings moved to a different space!

The blue pigloo at my house does the same thing. It reminds me of a horseshoe crab at the beach, or sometimes a turtle. My pigloo not only goes back and forth, but it goes 'round and 'round also. There is double the fun when Salvatore is inside it and Redemption decides it is too close to the wall or the corner; the pigloo goes round and round while Red pushes it away from the wall from the outside.
