My pigs now know the sound of the coffee maker!

My piggies amaze me with how smart they are!

My morning routine is to come downstairs and give my two pairs a few spoonfulls of pellets to forage for, while I sit and wait for my coffee to finish brewing.

Of course once the coffee is ready, I go back to the kitchen to get a cup, and opening the fridge to get the milk signals them to start wheeking for vegetables.

Well this morning...when the coffee maker started making the gurgling sounds it makes right before it beeps to say it's ready, before I got up out of my chair (which is centered between my two pair's enclosures) they got up to start begging!

So they are so smart!

The first thing I do in the morning is take my meds and as soon as I pop the tablet out of it's tray they start to beg because they know it's pellet time next.

They are super clever and respond very well to sounds that they associate with food.

Yes when I get up and put the kettle on that’s the signal for Ginger to start wheeking! I never fail to love her high pitched wheek even first thing on a morning

My piggies get excited whenever I open or close their blinds in their room. When I open them, that means morning veggies. Closing them at night signals that their pellets are coming.

They really are observant little creatures!

My piggies know the sound of the laptop being turned off. Once my hubby shut down his laptop, Vegas starts running crazy because she knows it's treats time. If she hasn't heard that, the sound of bath being filled up is her next clue. That's why hubby can't have a bath early, coz the piggies go crazy thinking it's treats time! My past piggies did the same too!

My piggies think the sound of my bedroom door opening means food time. Funny thing is even if the time is wrong and someone goes in my room there’s a chorus of weeks then bar chewing from Eevee,

The piggies live upstairs and the kitchen is downstairs. Ibuki starts wheeking every time she hears someone walking up the stairs – even if it's one of the dogs

My piggies know the sound of different footsteps. If they hear me or MrA get out of bed they give us a wheek. However if it is either of the sons who moves around they stay silent.
