Was talking to him tonight after noticing he was eating strange, he would chew with his mouth closed for a while then chew with it wide open like he was trying to cough up what he was eating, then i saw a big lump under his chin 8...8... Its just one thing after another with him :(

It might be an abscess so his off to the vets tomorrow, he is eating and drinking, but I am having to chop up his carrots in to tiny tiny mouth size bites..
Oh and he has this crusty thing on his nose, I thought it might be food but its hard to wash off, its in his fur not on the skin.

Just so worried about him, feel like I'm doomed with him, with the whole he hates other piggys and things. I ordered his new C&C bits today to cheer him up.

Sending wheeky wheeks to poor Bert!

And a BIG HUG to you!

Good luck Bert. Hope its nothing more than a cyst. Two of my piggies are prone to cysts which often just burst themselves. Let us know how you get on..

It does seem to be an abscess from your description. No matter what your vet may tell you there is no need for a general anaesthetic to drain an abscess.
In many cases there is no need for a local anaesthetic if the abscess is ready to burst.
I have 2 pigs here at the moment that are each having an abscess drained on a daily basis.

Update!

As I guessed, it is an abscess which needs cleaning and squeezing out twice a day (nice). He has been given some baytril to have from tomorrow twice a day and the vet gave us from hydrogen peroxide to help clean the abscess so it will get better. She also thinks his teeth are still immature which is why they keep breaking so we have to get some vit C drops for his water too!

Poor Bert but at least its not as bad as we thought! My poor baby! 8...

I'm glad it's not as bad as it might have been and am sending healing vibes Berts way.

vitamin c only last about 10 minutes in water you are best to put the drops on some veggies and give it to him that way! best of luck for a full recovery and have you got some probiotics?

No probiotics, what could they be?

Ah ok will put some on his special chopped mini bites veggies :)) Yeah I'm glad its not as bad as I thought but I know its still going to upset him, I have had my older boys for over a year now, not an issue yet poor Bert comes along!

"Immature teeth"

That is another one to go into the collection of stupid comments.

Yes. If only because, once again, it demonstrates a lack of basic knowledge and how the profession can sometimes attempt to impress an owner, who they believe is willing to accept any comment without question.
The man/woman in a white coat syndrome.
