My poor little Leo...:(

I noticed my Leo wasn't acting like himself lately, he didn't want to be close to any of the other piggies, so we seperated him from the others for a while...

Took him to the Vet today, and they pulled out a load of black gunk from his ear and said he may have mites...I have Invermectin to put on his back every 2 weeks, but he has to go to the Vet again tomorrow to get treatment.

I'm so worried about him...:( I don't know what to do for him until tomorrow...

:( I'm so sorry to hear about Leo, i dont know what to suggest as ive never had to deal with mites so i just wanted to send lots of hugs yours and leos way and lots of get well soon vibes! xxxxxx

I hope you're okay hun.
I'm sure he'll be fine, at least it isn't any too scary! And if he does have mites, it can be treated!

Thank you, AudioHeart! <3 The Vet didn't really elaborate on what the black stuff was, so I'm assuming it's something to do with the mites? I give my piggies a bath every Sunday...It was only in one ear...

The nurse and surgeon did say that Leo is a lovely piggie and has beautiful eyes, though! <3 Which I thought was really sweet...

I'm quite happy that he's eating a little more now...I've literally been watching him like a hawk. Can't wait for tomorrow so we can go back to the Vet and get his treatment!

It just scared me slightly when I read certain mites can kill?

If they're mange mites then they are very easily treated and nothing to worry about if they are being treated. They are only fatal if they are left for a long time or if the pig has some kind of immune problem.
