Some of you may remember that last month Truffle had an xray for poss bladder stones & that none were found. He had a course of septrin & has been on metacam ever since but he's still no better 8... His wee is gritty & now he is struggling eating certain types of veg :... He's been to the vet today who says his back, right teeth are growing over his tongue so he's back there tomorrow to have them sorted & another xray on his bladder 8...

oh noooooooooooooooooooo 8...8...8...

GET BETTER TRUFFLE XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Healing wheeeeeeeeeks and loves from us all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Get well soon Truffle. Poor baby.

Let us know how he gets on!

Hugs for Truffle, and you Suzanne - hope he is sorted easily at the vets today! xx

AWWW - I am so sorry that poor Truffles is having such a rough time! :(

I am sending you and your poorly cutie boy all my best wishes! x>>

Thanks for your wishes everyone - have to phone the vets in 8 minutes (can you tell I'm clock watching) to see how he's getting on xx

Truffle is home x)
He's had his teeth done & xray still doesn't show any stones so I suppose that's a good thing - still doesn't explain his crying & gritty wee though. Vet said to up his fluids (he never touches his bottle) so he's now getting syringed 5ml of special mineral water every time I go upstairs rolleyes

Great to hear he is home and doing ok! Good news on there being no stone and having his teeth sorted. :)

Fingers crossed he takes to his fluids well - flushing his bladder out with more water may well help keep him a bit clearer. xx

aww poor little thing. I hope he gets on well with taking fluids and hope he gets better soon big kiss X for Truffle and big hug for you :)

I am so pleased to hear that Truffle is home where he belongs. Give him lots of love and cuddles from me and my girls. Has your vet mentioned giving him a bladder flush again? It may be a good idea to try and flush some of that grit out x

Awww poor truffle, hopefully with his teeth done he will start to feel better. Sending lots of hugs to you and truffle from me and my girls - Rum, Raisin, Jess and Ruby xx

my friends guinea never showed up bladder stones but on openning him up they found he had lots of slush in his bladder this was flushed out and he is now fine think they can flush out the bladder with out openning him up and some herbul tablet treatment off a website also helps to get rid of them and change in food (herbul treatment for pets) its under my friends guinea had cristles and slush but no stones ever showed up on xray neither did the slush seems like this is what he needs ask about flushing his bladder out

Thanks for the info Claire - I asked about a bladder flush but the vet said that because he is doing big 'normal' wees in between the gritty ones they seem to think that his bladder is flushing itself. I think I know the herbal treatment you have referred to as well. I think I will see how he gets on with his low calcium water & syringing then obviously go back to the vet for further treatment xx
