My poor William.

So William seems to not be getting any better and each time I see him out in the run asleep he looks like he has passed away peacefully.

Unfortunately with William I am just *waiting* for one day to wake up and he's no longer here, but popcorning away in the field of endless hay, with Keithy.

It's sad to think of it like that, but I would rather he passed away like that in the sunshine rather than in pain.

It's HORRIBLE to think like that, but he's been so poorly for ages, with some mystery illness, which is breaking my heart 8...

I'm sorry to hear hes so very poorly, its horrible because they cant tell you how they feel but you can just see it in their little faces cant you 8...

He was getting better, then this morning he just didn't seem right - the vet still can't find anything wrong with him. We've looked at every avenue, he's still getting hand fed and his Baytril and Metatone.

He has his good days and his bad days and I HATE his bad days :( 8...

His weight just won't go above 1lb 11oz. 8...

What happens off the baytril? Antis can often stop them wanting to eat. Are you using a probiotic and supplementing vitamin C?

Poor little guy! Guinea pigs are great til they get ill, then they're a pain in the bum! Picking Jeffy up later, was nice having a non-worried-sleepless night last night!

That's good news. so sorry you can't get to the bottom of it with him. I hope he continues to rally around.

I know it may sound daft but have you tried giving him 'poo-soup' from one of your healthy duo either Alan or Clive? As long as the are not on any medication it may help...

Putt our older piggie suffers from bladder and bowel problems, we have been giving her 'poo-soup' from our other girls and it has improved her condition ten-fold.

Awwww, William - Are you sure you haven't got enough food in your mouth? He really is a gorgeous boy. x)

Don't give Heston ideas! Some of the things he dreams up are crazy....

William has LOST two ounces 8...8...8...

I'm gutted, I will be upping his feeds and see if he gets any better. I don't want him to starve to death.

Aww poor William he's far too handsome to be poorly! It just breaks your heart when they're not right, to the point of frustration because they can't tell * what's wrong or what they need :(

I'm going to take him back to the vets tomorrow when it's open and try and get some more tests done.

Alan & Clive are being ever so good though and not humping him :)) but more snuggling with him to make sure he's ok.

William wasn't right when Keithy died (he lost LOTS of weight) then we quarantined him, then we go Alan & Clive and his weight started to bulk a little, then it started dropping again.

I'm hoping if we can get some more tests done that this mystery is solved and we can sort it out! I dread coming down in the mornings and William no longer being with us :(

Come on Mr. William Wotsit we need you!
 
Have you also tried William on oats? hey may like some time to himself noming some oats :)
My girls like them as they are, but i know of many who give them lightly moistened :)

William LOVES oats! He can make these dissapear!

He ahs such an interest in food still and is ALWAYS waiting for the next thing to eat, just this isn't transferring to weight gain.

I'm thinking he may have diabetes and the vets have missed it?!

Glynis I know your Velvet has diabetes - can I PM you about it?
