My reason for not being around this week... the boys

Not 100% true, as ive had silly shifts to work too. But anyway. My boys went to work with me on Monday. Merlin was castrated and my dear Polo had a quick gas down and a deep nasel swab taken. Hes still struggling with respiratory issues, (nothing hugely major) but he has periods of troubled/noisey breathing. Other swabs have come back with nothing really, so a deep swab was decided. Ive changed his bedding over to vetbed, now also started to have a go at soaking hay as suggested by the vet. Not sure if that'll work? If this swab comes back clear then I'm going to try him with an inhaler incase of asthama.

As for Merlin, he didnt take the neutering as well as my Ozzie did who bounced back very quickly. Merlin didnt eat very well for a couple of days after the op, so ive been having to syringe feed to suppliment, even so he has lost some weight. Hes now eating much better. Hes managed to chew all four stitches out, but the wound is holding well so I'm not worried about that. Hes now on the road to recovery by the looks of it.

Heres a couple of cute pigtures i took on Sunday, before they went in. They both had a bath. Unfortunatly Polo had a panic and made his face wet, but it made for a cute picture.

Aww, lovely pics, sounds like you've been through it this week! Glad they are both doing well and hope you get some answers soon for Polo!
 
poor boys, what a week! first a bath, then the vet! esp. merlin, poor boy, i hope he feels better soon!

please let us know how he is and also about polo's deep nasal swab results - give us a call if you need any help!
