Just wondering if anybody else has a specific routine they follow with regards to day to day care of their pigs. I'd like to tell you what I do. Any feedback is greatly appreciated and welcome.

Monday-Sunday..

Morning - Hay Top Up

Evening - Food & Water

Night - Hay

Sunday - Full Hutch Clean
Wednesday - Hutch tidy up.
Sunday & Wednesday fruit/veg feed.

I think i should be feeding the piggies veg more often, any other things you would suggest i do?

Thank you guys :)

Hello welcome to the forum. Your routine sounds like a guinea pig's dream, hay, hay followed by hay, yum yum. :))
Ours have veggies each morning and when I get home I sweep up and change the hay, water and pellets and a give them a little veggie treat, usually a green bean or two each or piece of parsley. They then get a handful of something nice like orchard grass or readigrass every other evening before I go to bed.
I clean the whole lot out every 3 days and disinfect everything every week.

Your routine sounds great but they can have veggies every day.
There's a great shopping list here http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=42
just introduce new foods gradually so they don't get upset tummies.

Hi,

yes, my daily routine is morning top up hay, give fresh water and pellets and some veg.

Scoop up any poops, replace any really soiled cozies

evening do the same.

Also every 2-3 days change fleece /towels and litter trays:))

everyday I give cuddles and put them in there indoor run, also rus my peruvian:))

Your routine sounds great to me except I agree with what has already been said, that they can have veg more often :) My 4 have veggies at breakfast and teatime. I tend to give them something like celery, pepper and lettuce for breakfast followed by cucumber, broccoli and lettuce for tea. Their veg selection changes daily meaning that they have a variety of veg throughout the week.

Please do only introduce new foods slowly and one at a time :)
