I haven't been on this forum for long, registering a couple of days ago for some advice on caring for my ill piggy Salsa. The story is in this thread here; despite my best efforts to keep her going, she passed away shortly after I left her at the vet's this morning.

Along with her sister Nacho, she was my first guinea & was such a wonderful pet, getting me hooked on guinea pigs. I can't quite believe she's not with us any more, & I want to thank everyone who has given me advice & support on here over the last couple of days - it was a great source of comfort knowing people were caring about us & wanted to help.

Nacho seems to be doing OK for now, & I've been giving her lots of treats & cuddles to try & make up for the loss of her friend.

Here's my beautiful girl how I want to remember her, when she was healthy & happy:

I had tears in my eyes reading your original thread and this one. I am so sorry you've lost your beautiful special girl. You did everything you could for her. Thinking of you and Nacho.

oh how very sad, rip salsa, rip sweet thing.

You did everything you could, i know its a very upsetting time, but your piggy knew you loved her by all the time, care and patience you have shown her in the last few days.

So sorry for your loss - take comfort that you did so much to help her and she knew how much you loved her right up until the end.

Aw, what a beauty.
I won't forget Salsa either, some things just stay in your mind and also by following and responding to threads from members makes it all the more personal for us so we all feel it when someone loses a little one :(
Sadly, another little one passed the same day as Salsa and I noticed you had sent them a message - you knew how that person was feeling and I think that was a kind and very brave thing to do :0
