My set up

So I’m all pleased with my set up! The 4x2 c&c is on top of two IKEA Kallex units (gift from my mum for her new grand piggies!). But I’m just sat here thinking…. I’d really need to fix them down so the pen doesn’t run any risk of sliding off the top - down would come pen and piggies and all! I’ve thought of taking the connectors off the bottom, using cable ties instead and then just a few ‘horseshoe’ nails tapped in over the wire… any better suggestions and constructive criticism would be most welcome thanks! My adopted piggies will come home this week
(I haven’t fixed the bedding properly and there’s a waterproof shower curtain to go in the bottom, but no point doing all that until I sort out the fixing down of the pen.)

Hello Ruth that looks lovely ! Are you having 2 water bottles and 2 dishes ? It’s easier for piggies to have their own space and then no fighting ! As you say the connectors could be a problem with slipping. I’ve used cable ties and it’s very easy to do. The ‘horseshoe’ cable nails would make it very secure.
I’m sure you’re very excited to get those piggies

Clipping it down would make it safer.

Yes definitely need two of everything the same. You are also going to need some more hides. So far you have one tunnel and one pigloo but you need two of all items. However, pigloos are not recommended as they only have one door and these can be a flash point for problems and defensive injuries if one piggy gets trapped inside by the other. Always used two exit hides and have two the same.
