Last night I was holding my skinny pig (hairless guinea pig) and petting him when suddenly he squealed out in pain. He is usually very moveable and has never cried while I pet him. After examining, it became obvious that the source of the pain was his back. What should I do? Any idea what could be going on?

Only a hands on diagnosis by a vet will be able to tell you. We aren't vets and so can't diagnose (not are we allowed to) we can only advise. If nothing else it sounds as if your piggy needs pain killers. Let us know how you get on at the vets.

Please see a vet and do not home treat on spec. You can make things easily much worse rather than better and prolong any unnecessary suffering increasing pain needlessly.
