Ellen & Bonnie
New Born Pup
I have kept guinea pigs all of my life and I love the noises they make. When I got married, my mum kept my boys and I was left without
My husband finally relented and let me get two for Christmas 2016
. However we had the shock of our lives about a month after we got them, they were living inside while it was cold and they were only babies. I woke in the middle of the night hearing what I thought was a bird... total panic, there is a bird in the house! So I woke up my Hubby and we checked the house, no sign of a bird. Back to bed we went and the noise started again, we spent about an hour going around the house and up and down to bed because every time the lights went out the "bird" would start again only to go quiet when we got up
. So tired and frustrated the next morning I googled guinea pig noises and found to my shock that it had been one of the girls (we later discovered it was Bonnie as we caught her singing away one morning
). Now, I have never heard any of my previous babies making this noise. Google has little answers as to why they make this chirping noise but apparently it is very rare which explains me never having come across it before. Can anyone tell me what it means and does anyone else have a song bird in their family? Looking forward to your stories x
