Hey everyone,
I just wanted to share my story of how my piggies helped and are still helping me through a really tough time.
About 5 years ago I was diagnosed with a chronic illness called CFS/M.E. It makes me exhausted, and weak. I spend all day in bed and don't have the energy to do anything or go anywhere. As if that wasn't bad enough I then got diagnosed with a heart problem that meant I'm prone to fainting. I feel into deep depression which has had its highs and lows over the last 5 years.
Then I got my boys a few months ago, and suddenly I've got a reason and purpose to try and get up in the morning. And even though I spend all day trapped in my room, I'm not alone and isolated like I was before. I can't believe how much they've helped me, they are just the best things ever!

How amazing that they help, you. I am so sorry you have these health problems. How incredibly frustrating for you. Hugs x

Not the same in any way as you, but I have a very stressful job and my Guineas bring me down to earth every day. I actually don’t know how I’d manage without them .

Awwwwww so gorgeous!

I went back to guinea pigs after a 10 year break- to replace my son and daughter 😂 They both left home within 3 months and I had terrible depression and empty nest syndrome- nothing to get up for.
I totally understand, in a different way mine have helped me too! ❤️

It's so hard when your kids grow up and leave the nest! My piggies are definitely a comfort to me.

I'm so sorry to hear you've had such a tough time but I'm really pleased your boys are helping you. I agree, watching piggy antics is very relaxing.

Keep strong, I know how you feel. I have Fibromyalgia, hypermobility joint disorder and athritis and every day I struggle particularly with fatigue. My pets are my life and this forum will never judge anyone. If you ever need to talk my message inbox is always open. It's amazing what these little piggies do for us x
