My runs are huge the boys have 4 meters x 80cm and the girls have 4 meters x 1 meter there would be enough room to make a split level we are looking into doing that soon, I love to make things for them, I make hammocks out of shade cloth and tunnels out of canvas, my friend has a few hammocks that I have made and her piggy's :smitten: LOVE :smitten: them

Well that's a little of my babies I look forward to looking through and seeing everyones piggy's.

My babies are very special!

Truffles had three bubs at 6.30 am 27th september 2007

Truffles gave birth and when finished her contractions didn't stop therefore she pushed so much that she had a prolapse of the uterus and bladder etc. All form inside was on the outside. This was the worst case the vet had ever seen.

After a long and thoughtfull visit with the vet we decided to have it seen to rather than just put her to sleep this was around $200.00 , So Truffles went under GA for a small operation to try and fix what had gone wrong. Using probes they gently put all of it back in.

She came through the GA very well she was a little slow at first the vet rang and said she is just a bit quiet That's when I told him she is just a quiet piggy.....As the day progressed she got better and better they had been giving her fluid shots under the skin and antibiotics to prevent any infection.....then at 5.15pm she had a turn for the worst and went into shock once this happens the chances are very slim.

I got in the car as the vet had told me maybe 10 minutes until she would pass away, I went straight there and received the very sad news that my precious piggy Truffles had just passed away.

Truffles is now burried beside the new run where her three gorgeous babies will live, she will always be wih them.

I went to pay the bill and the vet told me that the proceedure for $200.00 had been cut to $114.90 he asked that I pay this when I could that he did not expect me to pay it right then. He let me out through the fire exit to take her home, He only charged me for the consult and the GA....

Today the babies are fighting fit almost 2 months on!

I have 17 all together

6 boars (I has been desexed and lives with the sows)

11 Sows
 
Hi piggyprincess, how did you introduce your sows to eachother? was it one by one or all together? I'm wanting to do this with my sows and my neutered boar but they're not the most co-operative pigs lol! Do they all get on fine? x

I've gone thru each emotion with these videos :'( :'( :'( very sad about Truffles :'( :'( but her babies are just gorgeous and that vid of them feeding? it was beautiful :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Hi I just pop them in as they come ;D When I get a new pig they are lice checked and in they go no problems at all I also have a desexed boar now he lives with the girls and I have been told if you have a problem with your girls to pop in a desexed boar as he will become the leader and the girls will stop fighting. I am lucky all my girls get on great! ;D
 
Aw lucky you! Yep i have a neutered boar too, will give it a go :) yours all look great with all that space etc! x
