An update:
More waiting and seeing. :{
Vicki isn't in until Friday so we saw a different vet today. He doesn't think Wally's eye can be saved and will need to come out. 8...
There's not many vets in this week and as he's on antibiotics he should be fine until Friday apparently when Vicki's back and can operate. I'm still holding out a tiny hope that his eye could get better after seeing a load of pictures on Guinea Lynx about a guinea pig who had a ruptured eye, it looked hopeless like Wally's but when the scab came off it looked like it was healing. Anyway, we'll see how it's looking Friday, he's getting about fine and is eating okay now too.
He couldn't come up with any concrete diagnosis for Yoshi's current illnesses and found loads of new lumps ( that weren't there on Thursday ) so I'm not a happy Mummy. I don't think he's well enough to go through an exploratory, he's far to weak for a G.A. We've decided to see how he goes on the Septrim, Critical Care and probiotics and I managed to get him some Metacam too to make him a bit more comfortable. This seems to have helped because it's been a battle all weekend syringe feeding him ( he really isn't interested ) but after he'd had some Metacam he must have felt a bit more comfortable because he did manage to get quite a bit of Critical Care mixed with baby food ( banana & mango, he likes the flavour ) down, well, more than the last few days anyway. He snuggled up on my chest, all propped up with pillows ( seemed to ease his breathing ) and let me finger stroke his nose and cheek and dozed comfortably for a couple of hours. I'm glad he got some relief but I'm not kidding myself about where things could go. 8...
So it's more watching, waiting and intensive caring.... and lots more positive vibes please. x
