In case this helps anyone with a similar problem!
Caspy and Nugget have been suffering from a damp cage for weeks. One of their bottles dripped. I tried swapping the top, swapping the bottle, new bottles. Always the bottle in the one position! It didn't drip if I swapped it with the bottle the other side of the cage but then that one would drip. Watching Nugget drink I realised he stands at the side of this bottle and pulls sideways. Yesterday I noticed he's unscrewing the top half a turn which is breaking the seal. Today I've hung the bottle sideways so he doesn't pull it, no drips so far. Having a bottle not attached to the cage facing forwards, neat and tidy is testing my sense of everything symentrical, if it saves changing the damp fleece every day I'll sit on my hands!

I've had two boars (at separate times) who were maniacs with water bottles, I'm not quite sure how but they regularly needed new bottles. Not refilling, brand new bottles, because whatever way they drank they'd end up breaking the spout off the cap.

Boars and water bottles, eh?

Haha yes both my boats drink really loud and aggressively :)) :))

Haha glad you’ve discovered the mystery! These naughty boars, especially those naughty silver foxes! :))
Jess was my worst drinker ever! And she was a tiny 1kg, but the blooming noise she made ragging it around was terrible! 😆

I will make sure that Clover who despite her age and bad arthritis is still queen water bottle rattler/destroyer doesnt read this, it will only give her ideas! She likes to rattle the 600ml water bottle so aggressively that... it actually splits eventally where the wire goes round lol then there is a flood and the piggies all jump in their upturned mangled carrot cottage wee boat and sail around laughing at me as I try to stem the tide and do an emergency soggy floor fleece change! :)
