hi guys,

naboo seems his very friendly and lively self but i got him out for hugs last night and notice his left back foot seems red...not swollen but pink and has not as much hair on it as his other grey/white hairy feet. with what looks liek a black dot on it.
What could this be?

x is it an urgent vet visit?

if it has a black dot it's most likey pigment. He looks himmyish so may have dark paws, nose and ears. Some piggies have redder feet than others. Keep a close eye on it though as bumblefoot gan get bad quickly and then it's really hard to get off!

i am taking him the vet on Thursday as I do suspect mites - the foot is not showing any cuts or sores but it looks dry and slightly more scaly and red then the other feet

It could be fungal rather than mites, but it is best seen by a vet who can have a close look at it.

The heat, and activity, can lead to red ears and feet - this may explain if the redness comes and goes. If the foot always looks a bit red and dry, a foot ointment may help, but worth checking with the vet for mites/fungal if you have reason to suspect he has a skin condition. :)
